Max Factor

Hello! A friend of mine found this neat article/book over the weekend. It's a summary of the a book that just came out about the history of Max Factor. Since it intersects with beauty culture, make up, advertising, cinema and all sorts of good stuff I thought I'd post it here for everybody. The picture on the first page is priceless...

Since Annie provided the link to the New Yorker review for the Max Factor book, I thought it might be worth noting that this is the annual "style issue" in the New Yorker. While the content of the articles is not particularly mind blowing, these particular articles seem to be more New York-centric than normal. The Mark Jacobs article discusses him as part of/linked to the Sex and the City phenomena, and there is a lengthy description of shoes and shoe shopping in NY. None of these are online...so, apologies for the lack of link.
